Blanket finished – thankfully!!

Well this colourful creation is finally ready to send off to Big Hearts Square Group for the project for foster children – it has now been finished twice. Yes, twice…having sewn in all the ends, sitting back, very happy…time to take a photo…I noticed one of the squares was the wrong colour!! I couldn’t bring myself to leave it, so the border was ripped out, the square was detached and replaced, and off I went again!!

I have another rainbow blanket in progress now, totally different style, but lots of fun!!

I can sew a rainbow…

IMG_4206

Hello! If you are reading this, thank you for coming back…if you are a first time viewer, thanks for visiting my blog!!

I am a member and admin of a lovely group on Facebook called Big Hearts Square Group – we make a variety of items for children in need in South Africa, Kenya and Uganda – and more recently, children and adults in the UK. One of the most recent projects involves rainbow coloured blankets for foster children who often come into care with nothing of their own. I have been working on 49 squares for my first rainbow blanket, and now ‘The Big Sew’ begins…and of course, I haven’t stitched in my ends yet either!!

I also have several baby items in progress for little ones due in January and February – I will look forward to sharing these along the way 😊

I would love to know what you are working on too – are you busy with Christmas presents?

Thank you for reading, I will be back soon – hope you are too!!

Maybe back again…?

Well it’s been a VERY long time, I had almost forgotten about blogging until a friend recently started a new one. I used to enjoy sharing my projects and little bits and pieces, think I might give it a go!!

Looks like things have change a lot since I was last here – apparently I even moved to a new blogging site at some point…it will take me a while to get used to everything and a massive tidy up.

But for now how about a little catchup? It’s been so long, what is new in my life….? Well, I am now an old married woman..I met my husband Neil in 2009, and we married 3 years ago. We bought our first house together in 2016 – it’s only little, but it’s ours and we love it.

I don’t cross stitch very often these days, though I am dying to get back into it properly someday. I mostly craft with yarn instead – predominantly crochet. I will enjoy sharing with you my various projects, and some that I have finished over the years!!

Thanks for reading, now, a big task ahead of working out what is what here. Until next time, take care!!

Hmmmmmmmm

Been a long time since I blogged!! Will find a few pics of bits and pieces I’ve worked on the past few months later, and maybe update the theme too, no longer (if it was ever) summer, think we’ve moved straight into winter without the lovely autumn weather and colours…!!

Hope everyone out there in Blogland is keeping well 🙂

Edited to add: Decided I liked this theme – not seasonal, just fun, looking outside it’s so grey and dull, need something bright and cheery!!

Time for a change

Now that we finally left wintery-spring behind here in the UK, if felt like time for a change of theme…..I wish we had more to choose from here on WordPress (I may have to go for an upgrade 😉 ), but I thought this one looked a little more like summer with the blue-sky-like background. The image is a picture of a lake back ‘home’ in Somerset.

King Tut’

Just realised I still didn’t post a picture of my progress on this beautiful design…..on the other hand, it does mean you will actally be able to see what it is 😉 If you haven’t heard me go on (and on) about this chart in previous blog entries, it is the recent Superchart from CrossStitcher.

King Tut'

Rachael is further along than I am if you would like to see more – she also has some other very beautiful projects on the go, I don’t know how she keeps up with them all!!

I am so in love with this design, and so far I just don’t want to put it down for any other stitching. I have more Egyptian charts lined up to stitch after this one, and one day I really must get back to my beloved ‘Boy King’ that sees so few stitches each year…
