I have the house to myself for the rest of the day, so hope to make some good progress this afternoon.
I am just dying to start the Cross Stitcher Tutankhamun….made much more difficult by the fact that Rachael is making excellent progress. I am going to order in the supplies I need, so that I can make it my next project after the Smoothie. Not that I need a new project, and I already have one Tut’ on the go…..

Still very much in stitch mode….but one of these days I swear I will finish the book I have been halfway through for many months now!
I finished the rest of the dinosaur set – I think they are such little cuties, I look forward to seeing how they look on a quilt, and hopefully the quilter will let me share a pic
Been catching up on the Fruit Smoothie stitchalong piece:
And not forgetting UFO Tuesday – I decided to join Cath on A Bouquet for Cheryl. I didn’t get a lot of progress as I only stitched for about an hour and a half, and part of that was frogging and restitching an area that had been wrongly stitched before:
I will be working mostly on the Fruit Smoothie piece for the rest of the week, hope to have a good progress pic for you soon!

A few finishes from recent weeks….first up, Blackwork Challenge 1 – I decided to finish a couple of rounds early so that I didn’t get too close to the fabric edge – my sister is going to make this into a cushion for our Gran:
I finally finished the daffodil I was stitching for the Stitch Clubs charity stitchalong…such a pretty design, I really enjoyed it when I finally got down to it!
A few squares for Granny’s Quilts:
Those little dinosaurs are part of a set of 5 – they only take a couple of hours to stitch, I will finish the rest tomorrow

Haven’t been online much the past couple of weeks – combination of a lousy connection, and having my sister visit for a couple of weeks. Will update with a few of my stitchy projects later….hope everyone had a lovely Easter!

I have been having some problems with my internet connection for a few days now so haven’t been able to blog…..but it has meant I have got a little more stitching done that I otherwise might. On 2nd March, I joined the girls at Threads & Yarns for a stitchalong on the ‘Blackwork Challenge 1′ freebie from Tam’s Creations. It is such a lovely piece to work on, thanks Tam! I am roughly at the halfway point having done one more round since this pic was snapped:
It’s not easy to tell from this pic, but the aida is pale pink. I am using DMC 3733 thread…I wish I had used a slightly darker shade, but still happy with my stitching, and plan to make it into a cushion.
Had a couple of quick finishes…a cow for the charity stitchalong at Stitch Clubs, and a simple Mother’s Day card:
I have also made a start on the Blue Ribbon stitchalong at Stitch Clubs – I am working on a mint green aida…will get a pic soon. Also this weekend I need to stitch a surprise for my swap partner.

The girls at Stitch Clubs are ready for a swap, I volunteered for the job at setting one up on Swap-bot….a theme of Spring/Easter was decided, with a surprise item being the swap. Want to join us?
If you are not a Swap-bot member yet, registration only takes a few moments. This is a ‘public’ swap, so feel free to spread the word to other stitchers!

I did pick up the kitten for a few stitches last night – no major progress, but a couple of hours closer to completion. I almost forgot – I heard that the biscornu I stitched for Rachael’s swap finally reached it’s destination a couple of days ago – I stitched the same design on both sides and couldn’t resist the cute heart buttons.

Don’t know about you, but I certainly am….thought I might try and hurry it along with a new theme…there are no flowers in my garden yet, so I will make do with a little blog garden for now.
What have I been up to since I last blogged? Let’s see…last UFO Tuesday saw some progress on a long time un-finished project – Poppy Kitten. Here she was before, and after:
I will resume stitching on this piece for an hour or two tonight
I did have a couple of small finishes – these adorable helicopters from the April 2008 issue of Cross Stitch Crazy are part of a set that I am stitching for a group that makes quilts for sick and injured children….they were so much fun to stitch, I will stitch another 2 very soon!
I am still working on that daffodil for Helen – slowly I’m afraid, but will get it finished this week.

Well, that weekend soon passed me by!! I did manage to spend quite a lot of time working on my Ferret Knot – I didn’t make it all the way round to the hand, but I’m still quite pleased with my weekend’s work:
I will finish that little area on the left that needs filling in today, then it’s back to the daffodil that I promised for a charity set (last year!!) – Helen at Stitch Clubs has been very patient

I am always impressed by the amount of stitching Rachael gets done on her Stitchathon Weekends – and so I am going to dedicate the whole weekend to stitching on one piece only. With my sister home from uni for a few days I am planning to work on the Celtic Ferret Knot, as the colouring in makes for quick progress and less concentration than the average project. I hope to make some really noticeable progress on this by the time I ‘check in’ on Monday – here is where I am:
With enough effort, I hope to continue the brown around from the ferret’s back leg to his ‘hand’. Fingers crossed
